The idea of this struck to me when I was viewing the ad for dominos pizza .
So I thought why not simulate a healthy pizza recipe for kids as well as elders. With dosa batter in hand making Corn capsicum (red yellow bell pepper) uttapam is a 10 minutes job.
Use of red ,yellow,green bell pepper, corn & cheese makes this a tasty healthy & attractive kids recipe .This recipe is a must try recipe on day 2 or day 3 of leftover dosa batter.
Now coming back to Uttapam ,It is one of the tasty South Indian snack or breakfast. It has various types like vegetable uttapam ,plain,tomato ,tomato onion,plain onion, but Onion-Green Chili is one of my all time favorite. Uthappa deserves to be called the indian pizza as it lends itself to several toppings.Traditionally uttapam is made with lightly sour dosa batter.

lets proceed to recipe of Indian style PIZZA UTTAPAM RECIPE
Ingredients
Dosa Batter – 2 cups { Check above for recipe of dosa batter}
red + yellow + green bell pepper – 1 cup each chopped
1-2 cheese cubes grated
1-2 green chillies (optional)
sweet corn - 1 cup
Cooking oil /ghee for shallow frying
Pepper powder /italian seasoning/oregano - 1/2 cup (optional)
red chilli flakes - half cup
Salt as per taste
Method:
1.Wash bell peppers & chop them.chop chillies .Now mix litte salt with chopped bell peppers .Add chopped chillies ,corn mix well .keep aside .
2. Heat griddle or tawa. Take one ladle of dosa batter and pour in the middle of the griddle.
3.Spread the batter as pancake (spread it thicker than dosa as shown in picture) and add one teaspoon of oil along the edges.
4. Next add grated cheese generously .Now top up with chopped red + yellow + green bell peppers,chillies & corn evenly. You can create any designs & play with the colours.
If using Pepper powder /italian seasoning/oregano /red chilli flakes sprinkle it over uttapam .(I had not used ). Spread one tsp of oil from sides .
5. Let it cook on the medium flame for a minute and then cover the uttapam with a lid. Cook for another 2 minutes.
6.Remove the lid and add few drops of oil on top of bell peper,corn and chillies.By this time the uttapa would have browned at the base .
7. Gently flip the uttapam to the other side and cook for couple of minutes.Uttapam is ready when it is golden brown in color. Now smear ghee /butter on top of it.
8. Serve hot with tomato sauce or mayoneise or green/red coconut chutney.
Tips:
You can add mushrooms , olives,onions,tomato ,jalepano also to top up the uttapam .
