A very simple and easy pickle recipe. Even novice cook can prepare this.its a 10 minute recipe.This goes well not only with varan bhat /thalipeeth but also with sambar rice.


Ingredients needed
Amla -avala- indian gooseberry - 4-5
Chilli Powder -2 tsp (use kashmiri chilli powder for bright red colour)
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Suhana achar masala - 1 tsp
Salt as required
For the seasoning
Oil -2 tsp
Mustard - 3/4 tsp
Asafoetida/Hing - 1/2 tsp

Method :
1.Chop awala into small pieces with the skin.discard the seed
3.Heat oil, add mustard seeds, when they splutter, add asafoetida, and add it to the awala pieces.

4.Mix well and serve with curd rice or varan bhat.
5. Can be stored in the refrigerator for 7 days
