Indian Spices list :Translated english to marathi ,hindi names

Indian spices include a variety of spices that are grown across the Indian subcontinent (South Asia). Spices are typically heated in a pan with ghee or cooking oil before being added to a dish. Lighter spices are added last, and spices with strong flavor should be added first.




These spices come from different parts of plants. Flowers, seeds, leaves, stems, fruits etc. The spices include barks such as cinnamon, leaves such as bay leaf, curry leaf, flowers such as star anise etc.

Glossary of some commonly used Indian Spices is presented here. spices listed here in indian languages such as hindi, marathi,  along with English. First word is the english name of spice followed by hindi name & last one is corresponding marathi name.This post will be useful while cooking if you have any doubts regarding marathi & hindi names of the spices

  3. I want to know English names for "Baadyan", "Khada Hinga" and "Halkunda". Looking for these ingredients for Garam masala recipe. I ll be thankful for any help from your side.
