DADPE POHE|HEALTHY SPICY TEMPERED MARATHI POHA RECIPE

This is a classic  Maharashtrian dish. Easy & Fast  to make, nothing fancy but tastes good & also healthy to eat ! .Dadape means  & poha means flattened rice
When I want to cook some thing light for the breakfast yet tasty & healthy , this  recipe is my first priority.





Ingredients:

2 cups patal Pohe (flattened rice)
2-3 tbsp Roasted groundnuts/peanuts
3/4 cup tender & fresh scraped coconut
Coconut water / plain water ( As required to soften poha)
1 medium size onion
3-4 green chillies (finely minced)
2 tbsp fresh green coriander (finely chopped)
½ tsp Salt or as per taste
½ tsp Sugar or as per taste



For Tadka-(tempering)2 tbsp oil
½ tsp rai
 ½ tsp Hing
 ½ tsp Haldi
8-10 curry leaves (kadipatta)


Method :
1)  Clean & seive Pohe in a sieve (chalni). Peel & chop onion finely.

2) Mix Coconut water/ normal water Pohe and scraped coconut in a bowl, keep a plate pressed over
      the mixture for 1 hour to bring the mixture together.
3)  Mix  groundnuts, chillies,onion, coriander, Pohe, salt, sugar  .



4)  Make a Tadka  by heating oil in a tadka pan.When oil heats add rai ,hing,haldi ,curry leaves.
5)  Pour tadka on pohe & mix well.

6) Squeeze lime juice & garnish with coriander (kothimbir)

 Tip/variation:
1 Use raw onion and chopped cilantro to soften the pohe and just add salt, sugar and red chili powder to finish off the dish.
2. Roast papad & crush with hands & add to poha while serving
3. Add chopped tomatoes to above pohe
4. Garnish poha with yellow shev /sev.
