Presenting yet another raita to beat the summer heat namely Aloo raita which is made by mixing boiled potatoes, curd, green chilly and garnished with chopped coriander. This raita is very delicious .
I have been trying various raita varieties to beat the summer heat .
An Indian meal is incomplete without a yogurt dish or plain yogurt. Yogurt is a great accompaniment to the spicy curries,biryanis and also completes the meal by providing protein .
Ingredients:
1 medium potato, boiled - 1 cup
1 cup yogurt (dahi)
1/3 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. roasted cumin powder
1/4 tsp pepper (kali miri) powder
1/4 tsp. minced green chilies (optional)
1/2 tsp. sugar
2-3 tbsps. chopped onions (optional)
few mint leaves, chopped (optional)1/2 tsp finely chopped coriander leaves
Oil for frying 1 tbsp
Method:
1.Beat the yoghurt till smooth and thick.
2.Add salt, red chili powder, green chili,pepper (kali miri) powder,sugar,salt and cumin powder.
3. peel potato & cut into 1 inch cubes.In 1 tbsp oil shallow fry the potato till golden brown & drain extra oil on tissue paper.
4.Add sauted potato cubes and stir gently, so that potato pieces do not break up.
5.Garnish it with coriander leaves and mint leaves .
6.Serve cold with biryani or pulao or dum aloo
