Broccoli, Lettuce, Sprouts and Green Peas Salad


A selection of green ingredients is blended together in this recipe, for a colourful, flavourful and healthy treat. 



It does spike up the good health meter, being so full of nutrients like vitamin c, vitamin a, calcium, iron and fibre. Iron helps to foster blood, while calcium strengthen bone. Uncontrolled diabetes can lead many other complications and diseases hence eating a well balanced diet with right choice of ingredients helps to keep diabetes under a check and maintain your weight and general well being. Snack on this salad when you feel hungry at snack time as is low in calories and filling.

 Dressing is made of a blend of flavours to make this salad sweet and tangy. Keep it mild and simple like this however those who like spicy can add more pepper.









Ingredients

1 cup broccoli florets , blanched
1 1/2 cups iceberg lettuce , torn into pieces
1/4 cup bean sprouts
1/4 cup boiled green peas
1 spring onions , roughly chopped
1/2 cup capsicum cubes
1 carrot grated

To Be Mixed Into A Dressing
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp coriander leaves
2-3 crushed basil leaves
1 tsp powdered sugar
salt and freshly ground black pepper powder to taste









 Method

 1.Combine all the ingredients for the dressing in a bowl and whisk well. Keep aside.refrigerate


 2.Combine all the ingredients for the salad in a bowl and mix well.refrigerate .


3. At time of serving Add the prepared dressing to the salad and toss well.


4.Serve immediately.
