Baby Corn pakoda | makke ki bhajji (pakora)


Vow this baby corn bhajia is surely going to make your mouth water .

A welcome change from usual batata bhajia /kanda bhajia .your kids as well as elders will surely love this golden crispy pakora.

These baby corn fritters are surely a healthy bhajji as all of you must be aware that corn is rich in fibre ,iron & folic acid .Also corn is a hit veggie amongst kids .

Ingredients :

Baby corn ( chote makai /makka) - 10 - 12
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Besan ( gram flour) -  1 cup
Rice flour - 1 tsp
Turmeric ( haldi) - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder  - 1-2 tsp
Ajwain /owa / carom seeds - 1 tsp
Baking soda - 1/2 tsp (optional)
Water - 3/4 cup
Salt as per taste




Method :

1. Wash baby corn & wipe them on towel .Rub ginger garlic paste  '& salt on the baby corn .keep aside for 10-15 minutes.(You can slice corn into half & than make pakoda)

2. Mix besan ,haldi,red chilli powder ,ajwain , rice flour , salt &  water to make a paste ( paste should neither be too thick  nor thin as we want the paste to coat the baby corn).



3.Now dip the the marinated baby corns in batter & deep fry them in oil till golden brown.



4  Drain on tissue & remove excess oil.




5. Serve hot with tomato sauce  or cheese sandwich spread  or mayo.
