Kachori or Kachauri or Kachodi or Katchuri (Hindi कचौड़ी or कचौरी, Bengali কচুরি Oriya କଚୋଡ଼ି) is a spicy snack popular in various parts of India including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bengal and Orissa.
It is a popular snack food in Karachi, Pakistan.
But Todays kachori is made from sweet potato (ratale) and can be eaten during fasting/upwas/vrat.

Since sweet potato is sweet i have made a spicy filling from coconut ,green chilli,peanut powder & other ingredients.but if you want sweet kachori filling you can refer my post on sweet upwas kachori

Ingredients

Boiled Mashed sweet potato ( ratala /shakarkand) - 2
Sabudana flour (tapioca flour)- 1/2 cup
Crushed chillies - 1 tsp
jeera - 1 tsp
salt -as per taste
Filling for kachori
Wet coconut /desicated coconut - 1cup
Poppy seeds/khuskhus - 1tsp
sugar -1 tsp
cashew+almond+raisins - 2 tsp
green chilli chopped -1
cumin seeds (jeera)- 1 tsp
peanut powder - 1 tbsp
salt as per taste
coriander leaves (optional)
Method
1. Dry roast all ingredients of filling mentioned above in a kadhai & let it cool down.
2.Mix cover ingredients & knead to form a dough.
3.Take a small ball of sweet potato dough & flatten it on palms .Next with the help of thumb make it hollow from inside in the form of a cup where you can place stuffing.
4 Next place a portion of stuffing in cup & cover from all sides to make a round ball.Make all kachori in same way.roll kachori in sabudana flour in such a way that it gets coated uniformly
5 Deep fry kachori in oil & serve with upwas peanut yoghurt chutney or sweet dahi
TiP
1.You can use rajgira ata /singhada flour/upwas bhajani instead of sabudana flour
2.Serve kachori hot only .
