Raitas are perfect for that..You can make raita with whole lot of different stuffs.has a high content of pro-vitamin A and vitamin C. It is rich in fibre, folic acid, B vitamins such as vitamin B1, B2, B3 and B6, iodine, to a lesser extent magnesium, sodium, potassium, calcium, and phosphorus.
You can use this as a dip too, beetroot raita goes well for people who are wanting to eat light dinners/ meals or plan to go for a healthy diet option. It is to filling and healthy!
Ingredients
Beetroot – 1 grated
Thick Curd / Yoghurt / dahi – 2 cups
Salt to taste
Sugar – 1 tsp
red chilli powder - 1 tsp
dhania / coriander powder - 1 tsp
cumin /jeera powder - 1 tsp
pepper /kali miri powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Leaves / Cilantro – 3 tbspn finely chopped
Method:
1.Take curd, salt and sugar in a bowl and mix well.
2.Mix in all powders well .
3.Add in grated beets and give a stir.
4. Garnish with coriander leaves.
5.Serve with pulav.
Variation
You can make tempering by heating oil and add mustard and urad dal and let it get light brown. & pour on raita .
