Watermelon juice cooler - kalingdacha juice - Watermelon mojito summer drink cooler- GRANITA


The intensity of heat in hyderabad had drastically aggravated since May .Obvious solution to this problem other than cooler & air conditioner is having a summer cooler daily which will quench your thirst & provide relief from the scorching heat of the sun .

This watermelon slushy is just perfect for hot summer days! Watermelon, ice, and a bit of lime juice/ chat masala  are simply blended together in this quick treat. Easy and quick to make is this refreshing watermelon juice…. a cooling drink recipe for the summers.

Watermelon nutrition facts reveal this fruit as a jack of all trades; providing healthy amounts of virtually all essential vitamins and minerals. Vitamins A and C are available in high quantities in just 1 wedge of watermelon, providing 33 and 39% of your daily value. Vitamin B6, pantothenic acid and thiamin are also provided in significant amounts. Watermelon is an excellent source of vitamin C and a very good source of vitamin A, notably through its concentration of beta-carotene. Pink watermelon is also a source of the potent carotenoid antioxidant, lycopene. These powerful antioxidants travel through the body neutralising free radicals As a matter of fact, high intakes of vitamin C and beta-carotene have been shown in a number of scientific studies to reduce the risk of heart disease, reduce the airway spasm that occurs in asthma, reduce the risk of colon cancer, and alleviate some of the symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

watermelon juice

Serves 2
Prep Time: 15


Ingredients:
1/2 watermelon (about 2 cups)
2-3 tbsp sugar (Use sugar depending on sweetness of watermelon - mine was sweet so had used 2 tsp of sugar)
1-2 tsp chat masala /lemon juice- (I had used chat masala)
ice cubes
1 pinch salt

Method:

1.Chop the watermelon & remove the seeds.

2.In a  Hand blender add the chopped watermelon  sugar, salt & blend well. you can use normal mixer
3.Freeze the watermelon juice in freezer for 4-6 hrs .Remove from freezer just 1 hour before serving & keep in the normal compartment of regrigerator 


4.Scrape out using a fork and serve chilled in small individual glasses.
5.Alternately you can chill juice ,serve in glasses topped with ice cubes. 
6 You can also add some chat masala /pepper powder and black salt while serving the juice.

Note:

If using lemon juice blend it with watermelon in step no 2
