Shrikhand is mildly flavoured indian dessert which is traditionally prepared by hung curd , sugar and spices like cardamons, saffron and dry fruits.
It is one of the main desserts in Gujarati cuisine and Maharastrian cuisine.
Addition of pomegranate gives a new twist to this yummy shrikhand transforming it to new fruit shrikhand.
pomegranate juice imparts a nice pink colour to it
your kids will love this healthy fruity shrikhand.
Pomegranate is known as dalimba in marathi and anar in hindi

Ingredients
1/2 kg thick curds (dahi)
1/3 cup powdered sugar(adjust as per taste)
1-2 tbsp dryfruits (badam,pista,kaju)
a few saffron (kesar) strands
1/2 tbsp warm milk
1 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
1 medium pomegrante kernels /anar ke dane /dalimba che dane
Method
1. Hang the curds in a muslin cloth in a cool place for approximately 3-4 hours until all the liquid (whey) has drained off.
2. Rub the saffron into the warm milk until it dissolves.
3. grind half pomegrante kernels in mixer ,strain juice to separate seeds & remove juice in bowl
4.Mix together the hung curds,pomegranate juice, sugar, saffron mixture,dryfruits and cardamom in a bowl and churn using a hand blender.
5. gently fold few pomegrante kernels and chill in refrigerator.
6. Serve garnished with pomegrante kernels
Tips
1.do not forget to strain pomegranate juice if making at home
