Roasted red bell pepper pasta sauce| Homemade tomato red pepper sauce for pasta


It was my long time wish to post pasta recipes on  chatpatkhana.com.  I  am posting first pasta  recipe on my site i.e Roasted bell pepper sauce pasta or penne pasta with Roasted bell pepper sauce.

 prior to that goes the recipe of flavourful sauce for making pasta made using beautiful red bell pepper and tomato.believe me this sauce tastes heavenly and you can use it in sandwiches or even while making noodles for your kids





It came out great, tasted and smelt so good.its very easy to make also economical and hygienic .so  do try this flavourful red bell pepper pasta sauce?

 







Ingredients

Red bell pepper (lal simla mirchi) 1
Red ripe tomato 1
small onion 1 
Brown sugar / white sugar 1 tsp
Mixed Italian seasoning 1 tsp
Crushed red pepper(chilli flakes) 1 tsp
chopped parsley - 2 tsp
fresh chopped basil - 2 tsp
Crushed black pepper 3/4 tsp
Olive oil 3 tblsp
Garlic 5-8
10-12 Walnuts
 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese(optional)
Corn flour(white) 1/2 tsp (optional)
Salt 1 & 1/4 tsp





Method:

1.Wash and wipe the red bell pepper and tomato and apply oil all over it and roast them on open flame until they are charred completely by turning it to all sides.let it cool and Peel the skin off and chop them roughly.



2.Grind roasted,peeled and chopped bell pepper,tomato with walnuts,parmesan cheese,extra virgin olive oil,half garlic pods,black pepper powder and salt to a smooth puree.



3. Heat olive oil in a wide bottomed pan and fry sliced garlic until slight brown and then add chopped onions and fry until they are pink and soft.
 


4. add ground red bell pepper tomato puree  and mix well.Add salt,  sugar and the Italian seasoning. Crush between your palm while adding. Add red chilli flakes ,black pepper,chopped parsley,fresh chopped basil.



5. Add 1/4 cup water and bring to boil.Simmer for 5 minutes and add corn flour dissolved in 2 tblsp of water. Boil until oil separates and the sauce becomes shiny and thick.



6.Cool and transfer to a jar and keep refrigerated, use within 3-4 days.

Tips:

Add olive oil generously as mentioned.
Adding corn flour is for thickening and its purely optional
Can add chopped carrots to above sauce
