FASTING PATTICE !!! Sounds interesting right....I tried this recipe out of curiosity & believe me the end product was equally amazing.
INGREDIENTS
Outer covering
3-4 Boiled mashed potatoes
1 cup sabudana(sago) ata (Slightly dry roast sabudana in pan & finely grind in mixie)
1tsp jeera
Oil As per requirement to knead dough
Inner Filling (Saran)
2-3 cups desicated coconut
1 tsp jeera
4-5 green chillies chopped
1-2 tspn peanut powder
4-5 raisins
5-6 pieces of cashew &almond
pinch of sugar
salt as per taste
Procedure:
- Add oil & smash potato finely with all ingredients of cover to make a smooth dough.keep aside for 10-15 minutes.
- Mix all ingredients to prepare the inner filling.
- Make a round ball of potato cover & then create a hollow pit (similar to the one we make for modak) & place the stuffing inside it & then slowly shape it in form of pattice.
- Deep fry in oil .
- Serve with upwas chutney.
Upwas pattice is good idea in Srawan days. By seeing in photo itself shows yum yum tasty.
