Many of you will be wondering by looking at the name “Kushboo Idly” . Kushboo Idly is named after the chubby and bubbly south Indian actress Kushboo. This Kushboo Idly’s will be soft, fluffy and pure white. It goes well with sambar and chutney.
Not sure from where this idly is originated,must be either madurai or chettinad..it is more popular in Tamilnadu, specially in weddings.
Ingredients
Raw Rice-4 cups
Urad Dal-1 cup
sabudana /Javvarisi-1/2 cup
Salt-1 tbsp
Cooking Soda-1/2 tsp
Urad Dal-1 cup

Cooking Soda-1/2 tsp
Method
1.First wash the rice and urad dal with water and soak both of them together for 3 to 4 hours.
2.Wash the javvarisi or Sago and soak with 3-4 cups of water for 3 hours.
3.Grind everything together in a grinder to a smooth batter.
4.Allow this to ferment for 6 to 8 hours.
5. Now add little baking soda with water and mix well in the fermented batter.
6.Next grease the idli maker, pour a ladle full of batter and steam it for 8-10 minutes
7.Now the hot malligai poo idli is ready.
