Rice Flour Chakli Recipe |instant chakli |easy murukku |janmashtami recipe


Chakali is a traditional recipe made during festivals in Maharashtra and South India. It is very tasty and crispy recipe and can be made in various different styles by adding different ingredients to it.

 Rice flour and Moong dal,Rice flour and gram flour,Rice flour mixed with urad dal, moong dal and gram flour,Wheat flour can also be used to make chakali.

You can prepare rice chakali with any ingredients that is available in your kitchen
 










 

Ingredients :

    Rice Flour : 2 cups
   Ajwain Seeds : 1 tbsp
    Sesame seeds : 1 tbsp
    Red Chilli Powder : 3-4  tsp
    2 tablespoons of oil
    Salt to taste
    Oil to fry





Method :
1. Combine the both the flours with and set aside.

2. Bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil with 2 tablespoons of oil. add salt, red chilli powder and ajwain seeds .Add flours to  this boiling water to the flour and mix with a spatula. switch off gas cover with lid  & let it remain for 5 minutes .while dough is still warm start kneading



3. Make a soft dough by adding the cold water little by little. Knead the dough till very soft. The dough should be soft and smooth.



4. Take a small portion of dough and fill in the murukku / chakli press. chakli machine is known as sorya in marathi.use starshaped plate (chakti) for making chaklis










5. place a newspaper or greased plastic paper . Press the chakli maker on paper /  greased plastic paper Slightly rotate the chakli maker round and round until it forms a spiral shaped chakli.



6. Heat oil for deep frying. Carefully drop the chaklis and deep fry them on a medium flame.
 
7. Remove and place them on a tissue paper. Let them cool completely and store in airtight container.
