Tikhat Mithachi Puri is a Marathi fried bread (poori ) recipe.This is a fried version of our normal wheat flour pooris A savory tea time snack which can also be served as a part of festive meal.These pooris stay good for 2-3 days so can be carried even during picnics. I had served them with aloo matar ka jhol
Ingredients
Wheat flour - 4 cups
Red chilli powder – 2 Teaspoon
Haldi powder – ½ Tes spoon
Coriander (dhane) powder - 1 tsp
Cumin powder ( jeera) - 1/2 tsp
Ajwain (owa / carom ) seeds– ½ Tea spoon
Besan - 2 tsp
Sesame seeds (til) - 1/2 tsp (optional)
Sugar – ¼ Tea spoon
Salt – As per taste
Hot oil (mohan) – 2 Table spoon
Oil for frying
Method:
1.In a mixing bowl mix wheat flour, chilli powder,haldi,ajwain, Coriander (dhane) powder,cumin powder , salt, sugar.
2.Add 2 tbsp hot oil to above mixture. Knead to a hard dough with water. Keep aside for 5-10 minutes.
3.Make a lemon size ball. Roll each ball in a round shape.
4. Heat oil in kadai and deep fry on medium flame till golden brown on both sides.When puri puffs up on one side; flip puri to fry on other side.
5. Serve hot puris with aloo matar ka jhol , pickle or curd. They are so tasty that u can eat them on their on without any accompaniment .
