Chanyacha pithachi wadi|Besan onion dhirde omlette - pancake

 
This is my moms classical dish which is another favorite of mine. This dish type is called tondi lavane in marathi which literally means side dish for main course .This is not only easy & fast but even tasty .You can call it as a sister recipe of  tomato Omelette.You can make it with easily available ingredients in your kitchen .

You can even name it as onion besan omelette recipe Recipe .Whatever you name this dish ,it  has an amazing taste and I love it since childhood . This can be prepared literally in minutes, so this has become one of my favorite breakfasts to cook as well as eat .

You can even make this as a sidedish or evening snack  or even when you have no sabji left with dal rice. Enjoy it with ketchup / pickle .







Ingredients:

1 cup Gram Flour (Besan/chickpea flour)
1 Onion (finely cut)
2 Green chillies chopped 
1 tsp rice flour
 ¼ tsp Baking Soda
3 tsp Oil
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/2 cup coriander leaves (kothmir) 
1 tsp Chili Powder 
Pinch sugar
Salt (to taste)
Oil (for cooking)


 


Method :


1.Combine gram flour,  onion, turmeric powder, chili powder, rice flour,green chilli , coriander leaves, 1 tsp oil, salt,  and water and make a medium thick batter.  Batter should be of pouring consistency neither too thick nor too thin .



 

2. Heat a skillet /tava and smear some oil on it. 

3.Spread the batter in  a round fashion . 




4. Pour a tbsp of oil on edges & cover the tava with a lid  . check after 1 minute if  it is cooked( you should see it browning & small holes appearing)  then flip it over.

5. Cook the other side until done. 

6. Serve with tomato sauce.
