A simple easy and healthy recipe which can be prepared easily even by bachelors or kids.Yesterday it rained suddenly in hyderabad. This was when I thought of making buttered corn which we get normally in malls.I had lots of cirn lying in my fridge which I had purchased directly from farmers.Diet conscious people can use olive oil instead of butter .The quantity of butter can be added as per an individuals taste.If making for kids add more butter.
Corn is a rich source of iron,high in fibre & carbohydrates & folic acid.This makes it not only tasty but healthy attribute is also added to this dish.
You can prepare this with corn kernels or with corn cobs. in later case you will have to boil the corn cobs in water mixed with salt .
Ingredients :
2 cup sweet corn / american corn kernels
1 tbsp butter or 2 tsp olive oil
1 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp mixed herbs /herb of your choice (optional)
1/2 cup grated cheese (optional)
salt
Method :
1.Boil american corn kernels with water in pressure cooker with little salt for 2 whistles. You can also boil corn in a pan.
2.Remove corn from the pressure cooker ,allow it to cool & strain in a strainer /colander
3.In another pan melt the butter, add the corn kernels, salt, herbs and pepper. Mix well. Remove and serve hot.
Variation:
1.You can add grated cheese to the above mixture and keep on the heat, till the cheese melts.
2.If you do not have corn kernels, but corn cobs, then you will have to boil the corn cobs in water mixed with salt . When the corn cobs are boiled, peel of the corn from the cobs
