Bread Upma Recipe, Leftover bread recipe

Normally we consume bread but always have almost half packet leftover bread not knowing what to do with leftover bread which is about to expire. Bread Upma can be made in  almost 15 minutes . Its a very quick & easy recipe .Even people who dont like upmas will like this dish. Make this bread upma and relish your tastebuds. This is a good way to convert the leftover bread into a healthy breakfast





Ingredients:

Brown Bread /white bread - 6-7  Slices
Onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Peas - 1 tbsp.
Carrot - 1 - sliced (optional)
Green chillies - 2
Salt - as per taste
sugar - 1 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
lemon juice - 1 tsp

For seasoning:
Mustard seeds (rai) - 1 tsp
Jeera(cumin) - 1 tsp
Curry leaves -6-8

Garnishing
Coriander leaves - 2 tsp




Method:

1.Cut the  bread with a knife in square shape pieces. 

2.Heat Oil in a pan. Add jeera, rai & curry leaves .

3.Add green chillies,chopped onions ,tomatoes and saute well. 


4.Add all the vegetables. Add salt,sugar and saute until the vegetables are well cooked.

5.Add bread to it and cook until bread is cooked and all the ingredients combine well.


6.Switch off gas ,add lemon juice ,coriander leaves & mix well.




Variation:

1.Instead of square shape pieces, grind bread along with sides in mixer & add it in step 5 ,rest process from step number 1 remains same.
