Beetroot Paratha |Red colourful paranthe -thepla


 The red of  colour of beetroot paratha is definitely a treat for eyes.This is one of the unusual & healthy paratha. A clever way to make your kids eat beetroots. It has a high content of pro-vitamin A and vitamin C. It is rich in fibre, folic acid, B vitamins such as vitamin B1, B2, B3 and B6, iodine, to a lesser extent magnesium, sodium, potassium, calcium, and phosphorus. It tastes as delicious as it looks too :)

Definitely try this beet paratha which can be eaten in breakfast/ lunch /dinner .ENJOY




Ingredients:

2 cups wheat flour (gavacha pith/gehu ka ata)
1 large beetroot, grated
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp dhania jeera powder (cumin coriander ) powder
1/2 tsp ajwain seeds ( carom seeds )
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 small green chilli, finely chopped
few chopped coriander leaves
salt to taste
2 tsp oil /ghee 




Method:

1.Mix all the ingredients and form a firm dough. keep aside for 15 minutes .

2.Take lemon sized ball of dough and roll it into medium sized  parathas with a rolling pin as shown below. You can roll it in either triangular or round shape .













3.Heat a tava and cook each paratha, When it gets little brown, apply butter. Turn it and again apply butter on other side until it gets golden brown.  



4.Beet parathas are ready to serve with pickle / raita /curd.

Variation
You can add half a cup of methi leaves / spinach(palak) leaves while binding dough to make it more healthy
