Bread Pakora is a favorite breakfast and tea time /evening snack at my home. Both me and hubby loves it and I often make it during rains and winter . Its a good variation to normal pakoras/bhajia
This is prepared in two ways one is with normal bread & other with stuffing ( this can be potato /cheese / paneer )
The later one serves as our dinner especially after we had a filling lunch in afternoon.
Today I am posting recipe for basic bread pakora / plain bread pakora
Ingredients:
4-5 Bread Slices
2 cup Gram Flour (Besan /chickpea flour)
1/4th tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp sugar
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp Ajwain
Red chili powder to taste
1/4th tsp Garam Masala powder
Water for batter
Oil for frying
Method:
1.Cut Bread slices into desired shapes (like triangle, rectangle etc.)
2.In a bowl add gram flour, salt, chili powder, garam masala,,turmeric powder, sugar, ajwain and mix it.
3.Now by pouring little water at a time make a smooth batter (neither too thick nor too lose) similar to the one we make for bhajias /pakodas.
4.Heat oil in a kadhai.
5.Dip bread piece in the batter and fry till crisp on medium flame.
6. Serve bread pakora hot with green chutney and tomato sauce & masala chai (tea)
