Strawberry sauce home made recipe|How to make strawberry syrup-topping

Strawberry sauce is a great sauce for topping pancakes, crepes, french toast, waffles, ice cream, cakes .

One of great things of making your own fruit sauces at home is that you can control how much sugar is added – which can also be adjusted based on the sweetness of the fruit.

Strawberry Sauce (Puree) is a delicious blend of pureed strawberries and sugar. Fruit sauces pack a lot of flavor yet involve so little effort.

Take this strawberry sauce; all you need to do is process either fresh or frozen unsweetened strawberries, along with a little sugar, until smooth. Then add a few drops of lemon juice to bring out the strawberry's flavor and your done. It stores for up to a week in your refrigerator or for a month in your freezer.

This sauce is positively delicious and will make your kitchen smell unbelievably scrumptious.
The strawberry aroma is absolutely outstanding; there is no comparison between this and the store-bought variety – the flavor is bright, fresh and bold.

The beauty of making things at home is that you can make them exactly how you like them.
If u like a chunky sauce save a few to stir in at the end so the sauce becomes a little chunky. You could choose to slice the strawberries, put them in whole, quartered, or even puree it in a blender at the end if you don’t like any chunks.

I have given two methods which i googled on net .choose the one which you find best suited to you.

Also you can use fresh or frozen strawberries for this sauce

Ingredients :

2-3 cups strawberry - washed ,with stems removed & chopped

1/4 - 1/3 cup granulated white sugar, or adjust as per strawberry taste

Freshly squeezed lemon juice, optional

1-2 tbsp water (use in case of method 2 & if using fresh strawberries)

Recipe source: Joy of baking

Method 1

1.Wash the  strawberries and put them in food processor or blender and process the berries until they are pureed.

2.Pour the puree into a 2 cup (480 ml) measuring cup.

3. Add 1/4 cup of the sugar to start and stir until the sugar dissolves.

4.Taste and add more sugar if needed. Can also add a little lemon juice to taste.

Method 2

1.Heat berries in a saucepan over medium high heat. Add water if using fresh strawberries.

2.Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer with the lid on. Berries will burst and become saucy. Let the sauce cool a bit. Purée in blender and add sweetener to taste if desired.

Tips

You might not need any water if using frozen berries as they have a lot of water in them all ready.
If you need to thicken your sauce you can use some corn starch 1 tbsp dissolved in 2 tbsp waterof water & add when you boil the strawberries.
No need to use water in method 1
