I am sure most of us would be making different types of rasams like tomato rasam,tamarind rasam,dal rasam,milagau rasam but sweet corn rasam must sound something new , but believe me it tasted too good
Its raining here heavily in bangalore and something hot and soothing is what i needed
Followed recipe with few minor changes from divya pramils blog
Ingredients
Rasam Powder 2 tbsp
Tamarind paste 1 tbsp
Sweet Corn kernels to garnish 2 tbsp
Oil and salt to taste
Sweet Corn 5 tbsp
Coriander leaves a little
Curry leaves 3 sprigs
Garlic 2 cloves
Cumin/Jeera 1 tsp
Pepper 1 tsp
To temper
Ghee 2 tbsp
Mustard 1 tsp
fenugreek seeds -1/4 tsp
Curry leaves few
red /green chilies - 2 broken into 2 pieces
Method
1.grind ingredients mentioned above as to grind to a coarse paste.
2. In a pan add oil and after it heats up add mustard seeds and let it splutter.Then add fenugreek seeds,hing,green/red chilli and the coarsely ground mixture and saute for a few seconds.
3.Now add salt, turmeric powder, rasam powder and saute. Now add the tamarind water and stir well. Add a 2-3 cups of water and mix well.
4 After 5 minutes rasam will start to boil , remove from flame and serve!
