Paneer Pulao Recipe | paneer rice


Paneer Pulao Recipe is an easy one to make and tastes great too

Long-grained basmati rice, pressure-cooked in tangy tomato-based gravy interspersed with spongy cottage cheese cubes, the paneer pulao is a toothsome treat that will delight your family and friends!

Go ahead and try this easy one pot meal. 


The pulao pairs well with a spicy curry or paneer tikka masala. 

Todays pulao is exclusively with paneer , if  you like paneer with veggies than try  

Corn Green peas paneer pulao or capsicum paneer biryani

 







 Ingredients
    Basmati Rice - 1 cup
    Water - 1.5 cups
    Paneer - 3/4 cup cubed
    Onion - 1 chopped lengthwise
    Ginger garlic paste - 1.5 tsp
    Green Chillies - 2 sliced lenthwise
    Tomato -1 small sized (or) tomato puree - 3 tbsp
    Curd - 3 tbsp
    hyderabadi Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
     red chilli powder -1/2 tsp (adjust as per your taste)
    pudina leaves - 1 tbsp
    Coriander leaves - 1 tsp chopped
    Ghee - 2 tsp
    Salt - to taste



For temper:
    Bay leaf - a small piece
    Cloves - 2 
    black cumin (shahjeera ) -1 tsp
    Cinamom(dalchini) -1 inch stick
    Ghee - 1 tsp




Method:

1.Shallow fry paneer with little oil till golden brown. Soak basmati rice for 30mins.Drain water & Set aside.

 

2.Heat oil , ghee, add black cumin ,dalchini,bayleaf, cloves, greenchillies and ginger garlic paste, fry for 2mins, Add onion fry till golden brown.
 

3.Next add tomato, saute until mushy and raw smell leaves.add pudina leaves


4.Now curd,red chilli powder and garam masala fry for 2-3mins. Then add rice, mix well , saute for a minute. Add water and required salt.




5.Once water is absorbed cover with lid and cook for 5 minutes & then switch off gas . Now fluff the rice with fork then add the toasted panner immediately. Stir once and keep closed till you serve




 
6 Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.






Tips:

1.Adding whole spices in the oil before adding onions can be adjusted according to your own taste. Even cinnamon,star anise and cardamom can be added

2.Adding paneer with the rice to cook makes the paneer rubbery so toast it  and add  it in last step

3.Add paneer to the cooked rice immediately so that the flavour of paneer  is well blended

  
4.You can add corn or green peas along with paneer
