PANEER CHILLI |INDO CHINESE CHILLI PANEER

Last wednesday I prepared an Indo-Chinese dinner  consisting of Sweet Corn Vegetable Soup, Chilli Paneer and Egg fried rice.My husband is a fan of chinese food &  I surpised him with this   Indo-Chinese dinner  .I personally dont like chinese to a large extent. My husband is the inspiration behind me learning to cook various veg & non- veg chinese dishes.

Control the level of  red / green chillies as per your taste. Use spring onion white and greens for that authentic restaurant-style appetizer look and flavour.

Ingredients:

1 cup  paneer, cut into 1″ pieces
3  chopped spring onion whites
3   chopped spring onion greens
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1 tbsp chopped ginger
2 Green chillies chopped
2 tsp soya sauce (CHINGS SOYA SAUCE)
2 tsps vinegar /lemon juice
1 tbsp corn flour mixed with 3 tbsps water
1/2 tbsp sugar
1 green capsicums, thin slices
1 1/2 tbsps tomato sauce
1 tsp red chilli paste (soak 5 to 6 dry chillis in hot water for 10 mts, cool, grind to a paste)
salt to taste
2 tbsps oil

For marinade:
1 pinch black pepper powder
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tbsp corn flour + 3 tbsps water
salt to taste

Method:
1 Marinate paneer with above  ingredients for 10 mts.Heat oil in a  non-stick kadhai, place the thinly coated paneer pieces next to one another and shallow fry till brown. Flip over and let it brown the other side. Remove and keep aside.

2 Heat a heavy bottomed vessel, pour the left over shallow fried oil (if necessary add 1-2 tsps more oil), add the chopped ginger and garlic & green chillies and saute on high flame for about 30 secs. Add the chopped spring onion whites and saute for half minute. Add sliced capsicum and stir fry on high flame for 2 mts. Add red chilli paste, tomato paste, ginger garlic paste, soya sauce, vinegar, sugar and combine. Add the sauteed paneer and toss for a mt on high flame. Add 3 tbsps of water and adjust salt if necessary.
3 Add the cornflour water and combine on high flame, tossing the contents, for 2 mts. You will find that it becomes thick due to cornflour.
4 Add the chopped spring onion greens and combine. Garnish with more spring onion greens. Serve hot as a starter/appetizer.

Note:
1.Add salt carefully as soya sauce also contains salt.
2.Alternately, you can deep fry the marinated paneer till golden brown and follow rest of the procedure.
3.If you dont like hard paneer simply marinate paneer with   ginger garlic paste, salt & black pepper pwdr & shallow fry it till golen brown. In this case skip the coating of cornflour so that paneer remains soft & proceed from step 2.
4. You can use only chopped green chillies & skip red chillipaste & vice versa.Or you can use a combination of both .i had used both as I LIKE SPICY TASTE
