HOW TO MAKE CORIANDER POWDER AT HOME | HOME MADE DHANIA POWDER

Since I shifted to hyderabad I have started making all spice powders at home. Coriander Seeds are known as sabut dhania in India. Dhania Powder is an integral part of Indian Cuisine.  Coriander seeds reduce fever and promote a feeling of coolness. Coriander juice is highly beneficial in deficiencies of vitamin A, B1, B2, C and iron.
 One or two teaspoons of coriander juice, added to fresh buttermilk, is highly beneficial in treating digestive disorders such as indigestion, nausea, dysentery, hepatitis and ulcerative colitis.It is also helpful in typhoid fever.Regular drinking of coriander water helps lower blood cholesterol. it is a good diuretic and stimulates the kidney. It can be prepared by boiling dry seeds of coriander and straining the decoction after cooling.

Ingredients :

2 cups coriander seeds/sabut dhania  /dhane (in marathi)(You can use the desired quantity)

Method:

1.Clean  the coriander seeds / dhania to get rid of stones or any impurities.
2 Dry in the sun for 1-2 days OR you can  roast the coriander seeds in a pan till they become fragrant, crisp and browned.
3.Take care not to  burn them. If roasting cool the seeds . 
4 Grind coriander seeds to a fine powder in a dry grinder
6.Store in an airtight container in a dry and cool place. It will last for about six months.
