TRIANGULAR PARATHA RECIPE | SIMPLE EASY PLAIN BUTTER PARANTHA

Paratha or Paranthas are a category of Indian Breads that are very popular. It can be made in two  ways : 1) plain paratha  and  2 )stuffed paratha with different stuffing like mooli, paneer.mixed veg, cauliflower, potato etc...... . Every home as its own way or method of making parathas.

I  make parathas as an accompaniment with rich gravy punjabi dish like butter paneer, kadhai chole, malai kofta, dal makhani/ rajma
I use this traingular folding technique to make plain parathas .presenting step by step paratha recipe with pictures

Ingredients
1 cups wheat flour
1 cup all purpose flour (maida)
1/2 cup water
2 tsp ghee  / oil
salt

Method
1.Combine all the dry ingredients for the dough. Add water, ghee and form a pliable soft  dough. Add more water or ghee if required. Cover the dough and keep aside for atleast 1 hour.

2. Make small
balls out of dough .Take a ball & roll the paratha into a disc of 3-4 inch diameter. Apply ghee on this disc.

3.Fold the paratha to form  a semicircle as shown in the picture  below.

4Now again Apply ghee on this fold. Again fold it to triangle shape as seen below.

5.Now sprinkle some wheat flour and roll the double folded dough into a triangular or square shaped parathas or circular shaped parathas You can apply ghee and fold once more into a triangle if you wish too.

6.Fry the Parathas on griddle or tava with ghee/oil on both sides till they become golden brown.

7.Serve the parathas hot with dal or any indian vegetable curry.

Tip:
You can make these parathas with only maida / only wheat flour instead of using them in 1:1 ratio
