KHARI POORI RECIPE

Kharipuri is a diwali dish, which lets you pamper your sweet tooth and make the most of the grand festival of Diwali.
My mom  & mausis normally prepare this during diwali .The best part is that this puri lasts longer for about 2 weeks
Though all the dishes made at the time of Diwali are delicious but the recipe of Kharipuri stands apart from all other Diwali recipes in the sense that it is the best Diwali dish which can be prepared in very less time and does not involve much hard work. Here is the recipe for the yummiest Diwali dish in simple language just for you.

INGREDIENTS:

1 Cup maida ( all purpose flour )
1/4 cup oil or ghee
2 tsp black pepper powder
1 tbsp cumin seeds - jeera
1 tbsp chilli powder
Oil for frying
Salt
Warm water

METHOD :

1.Mix together the all purpose flour,  pepper, cumin seeds, chilli powder and salt.

2.Heat the oil/ghee in a small sauce pan. Add the heated oil/butter to the flour and mix well (use a fork or a spoon, remember the oil is hot!). Add warm water and make a stiff ball of dough.

3. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.

4. Roll out the dough in form of chapati and cut them in form of small puris  with the help of a sharp edge small katori (wati in marathi ) .Make sum cuts on the puri with the help of a knife so that puri doesnt puff .

5 .Deep fry in oil over low to medium heat.

6. Drain on a paper napkin & store it in a air tight container.

7.This has a shelf life of 2 weeks
