Veg pulao Asian style |How to make restaurant style asian chinese veg fried rice at home


This asian style pulao is an integration of chinese fried rice & indian pulao

You can either precook rice and then add it in end like in fried rice .Or even stir fry all veggies with sauces & then mix rice & cook it with water & veggies just like a pulao.

 Fried rice is always the most popular item in Chinese restaurants.

 Fried rice is a versatile dish and one can add any ingredients to it, plus it’s a great way to use up overnight rice and make it into an appetizing, cheap, and flavorful meal.








i have followed precooked rice method .so i am naming this dish as  asian style pulao or asian style fried rice.call it the way you want

This rice tasted exactly the way i had tasted it in mainland china .Important ingredients which are a must as per me in this recipe are star anise which imparts a mild flavour to rice,cinamom, ginger garlic,green chillies ,pepper powder ,spring onion & soya sauce & vinegar


Dont add too much of soya sauce as it will over power the rice & colour will also be brown.

use veggies like carrots ,beans,green peas,brocolli,cabbage ,capsicum as per your availability

i had served it with idli manchurian ,but it goes well even withv eg balls in hot garlic sauce

Ingredients
 1.5 cups basmatic rice or long grained rice, soaked for 30 mins
 2.5 cups water or veg stock
3 spring onions or scallions, finely chopped
 1/2 cups  cauliflower florets, blanched in salted water
1/4 cup chopped carrots + 1/4 cup chopped capsicum+1/4 cup chopped beans
 1/4 cup shredded cabbage (optional)
  3/4 tsp black pepper powder
 1 tsp soy sauce or as required
 2 tsp vinegar
 2 star anise
 1 inch cinnamon stick
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1 tsp chopped green chilli
 1 tsp julienned ginger
 tbsp olive oil/normal oil
 salt as required


 

Method:

 1.Pre cook rice till almost done with 2.5 cups water & spread in plate adding 1 tsp oil .allow to cool
 2. heat olive oil in a deep pot or pan.add the cinnamon and star anise.saute  till they become fragrant and release their aroma in the oil.
3  now add the garlic,ginger ,green chilli ,whites of the spring onions and fry till they are light golden.

4.add the veggies and saute for 2 minutes.note veggies should be crisp saute fast
5 sprinkle the black pepper powder and salt.
6 add the soy sauce, vinegar and stir for a minute..now add the  pre cooked rice mix well
7.check the seasoning and add salt or pepper or soy sauce if required.cover with a tight lid and cook the rice for 2 minutes.switch off gas

 8.garnish with spring onion  and  serve Asian style pulao hot with idli manchurian
