Oats cutlet |Veg oats cutlet | mixed vegetable oats cutlet




Last evening I prepared an easy ,healthy oats mixed vegetable  cutlet which was nutritious and tasty.adding oats makes it more healthy

Vegetable Cutlet is a perfect tea time snack and wonderful appetizer which is popular among kids and adults.
It is prepared from boiled vegetables and spices which is then fried in oil. It can be served with hot and sweet chutney or green chutney or ketchup.

You can prepare the veg cutlet balls, coat it with bread crumbs/rava , refrigerate it and then fry it just before serving.

Ingredients:Oats - 1 cup
 Potato –2 small boiled
 Carrot – 2
 Green peas – 2 tbsp
 Cut Beans – 1/3 cup
 grated beetroot - 1/2 cup
 Chopped onion – 1 cup
 Ginger garlic chilli paste – 1 tbsp
 boiled corn - 1/3 cup
 Coriander leaves – 3 tbsp
 Mint leaves – 2 tbsp
 Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
 Chili powder – 1 tsp
 Coriander powder – 2 tsp
amchur powder -1 tbsp
sugar -1 tsp
 Garam masala – 3/4 tsp
3/4 cup corn flour /maida /breadcrumbs - for binding
 Salt to taste

Coating semolina  or sooji or rava – 1/2 cup

 •Oil for frying





Method :
 1.Dry roast oats til light brown & keep aside
 






2.Boil potatoes and peel the skin. Mash the potatoes and set it aside.

3.In a mixing bowl add ginger  garlic paste to mashed potatoes. next Add green peas,boiled corn,chopped french beans, shredded carrot.




4. next add turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, amchur powder,sugar,roasted oats,corn flour /maida /breadcrumbs ,  and salt.  Check for salt and add more if required. Add mashed potatoes and mix everything well so that the mixture is combined well.


 


 


5. add chopped mint and coriander leaves and mix well.mixture for cutlet is ready.



6. Make small oval or round cutlets  from the prepared mixture, flatten it ,you can even use various moulds to give desired shape to the cutlets



7.Repeat the procedure and prepare the rest of the cutlets. You can prepare this ahead and refrigerate it and then fry it just before your guests arrive.

8.Now roll these cutlets in rava or sooji so that they are coated uniformly from both sides
 


9.Heat oil in a pan /kadhai and drop 3 to 4 cutlets at a time. Turn both the sides and fry  until it becomes brown.you can even deep fry cutlets


10Remove from oil and place it in on  paper towel. Fry the remaining cutlets.

11 serve the cutlets with tomato ketchup or green mint chutney
 













Tips :
1.Instead of rava  you can dip cutlets  in the all purpose flour(maida) water  batter and then roll it in  bread crumbs. Coat it with bread crumbs all over and then fry it
2.After a few batches filter  oil to remove those burnt sooji particles and then use the oil for frying.
3.Use veggies as per your availibility

4. can use toast (rusk) crumbs or cornflakes for coating
