Chat dosa| Dosa spring roll | Chaat aloo masala dosai

Heard of this chat dosa /chaat masala dosa ????

Last evening was wondering what to be done with left over dosa batter & leftover boiled potatoes ,this was when this idea came to my mind . Believe me it tasted just superb .A great way to create a simulation of sev poori & impress your kids by making them eat this healthy chat .

Enjoy these healthy protein packed spring rolls with the tangy flavour of chat . A good option for khuacha dabba (kids lunchbox).



Ingredients:

DOSA BATTER (pls click here for dosa batter recipe) - 4 cups

TAMARIND  DATE CHUTNEY (Imli khajur chutney)  - 1 bowl  { Pls click here for Imli khajur chutney recipe }

Shev  poori shev / yellow sev  - 1 cup

POTATO MASALA FOR CHAT

Boiled mashed  potato (batata /aloo) - 3
Chopped onion - 1
Coriander leaves (kothmir) - 1/2 cup
coriander cumin (dhania jeera ) powder - 2 tsp
green chillies chopped - 3
chat masala ( I had used everest chat masala ) - 1 tsp
red chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
pepper (kali miri) powder - 1 tsp
Amchur powder / anardana powder - 1 tsp
sugar 1 tsp
salt as required

Method :   ( Chat aloo masala dosa )

1. Mix all ingredients of potato masala in a bowl & keep aside .

2. Heat a tava /griddle .Pour a laddle of batter with a spatula on hot tava & spread it to form a thin dosa . Pour littel oil /ghee on top & edges of dosa . After 2 minutes dosa will start to brown ,now spread khajur imli chutney on top of dosa .

3. Now place the potato masala in centre of dosa (similar to masala dosa) . Sprinkle thin yellow shev on top of potato masala . Sprinkle chopped green chilli / red chilli powder & coriander leaves







4. Next fold the dosa & serve it hot  with your favourite chutney.

5. But this dosa has tangy imli chutney added in it  you can eat it even without chutney. If you wish you can garnish it with raw onion,sev & chopped coriander.

6  Proceed from step 1 to step 3. Instead of folding dosa  roll it as shown in below picture .













7. You will get a longitudinal dosa similar to hotel. With the help of a knife cut the dosa into rolls of 2 inch thicknesss as shown in the image .


8.  Sprinkle dosa rolls  with raw onion,sev & chopped coriander.Sprinkle chopped green chilli / red chilli powder & Chat masala.



9. Serve dosa spring rolls hot & enjoy these healthy protein packed spring rolls with the tangy flavour of chat .
