Ginger tea recipe,ginger tea benefits, how to make adrak wali chai



Need something to calm and soothe your soul? Try making a ginger  tea, a herbal tea made in most indian househoulds especially when you are suffering from an attack of cold or during rainy seasons.
The aroma of  ginger  always reminds us of relaxing massage and warm foot soak. its also called as aalyacha chaha or adrak wali chai in india.

A healthy way to start  Your day. I Had been drinking this tea since childhood .



Ginger (Zingiber officinalis) has a calming and soothing flavour with a touch of a bite to it that helps to keep you alert and calm. 

Ginger is commonly used to help an upset stomach, motion or travel sickness or general low-grade fevers. It is also excellent for nausea and for warming you up when you feel cold (it stimulates cold hands and feet), and is esteemed as a "heating herb". Ginger is reputed to help ward off colds or improve your recovery time. Other benefits of ginger include:

flatulence, colic or indigestion relief
blood sugar reduction
increases perspiration
soothes menstrual pain
melts fat and lose weight

ingredients

1 inch ginger (ala /adrak) grated
1 tbsp cardamom powder (optional)
2  cups of water 
2 tsp tea powder (use  tsp if you prefer a straong tea)
4 tsp sugar 
milk as needed

method:

1.wash  ginger and smash it with a pestle or grate it with a grater


2 In a sauce pan, add the water, grated /smashed ginger,cardamom powder & let water boil till the color of the water changes to a mild brownish. the ginger releases its juices & flavors in the water and thus the color of the water changes.




3 once it boils add  tea powder & sugar  and boil this mixture for a couple of minutes.



4. Add milk &  boil for 2 minute. 







5.Strain the tea with strainer and serve  hot with biscuits /snacks Or sooji toast
