DUDHI BHAJIA |LAUKI PAKODA PAKORA |BOTTLEGOURD FRITTER

Dudhi Bhaji or lauki pakoda is a modified version of batata bhaji which is a Maharashtrian Dish.
Bhaji's are most popular snacks in Maharashtra.
In between afternoon & evening the batata bhaji tastes good with a cup of hot tea or chilled butter milk.
Bhajis can even be prepared from mirchi ,onion, palak ...moong dal.But this one is my favorite of all.

1 medium size dudhi/bottlegourd
1  cup Gram Flour ( Besan )
1 pinch of red chilly powder

1 cup water
oil for deep fry

Method :

1.wash and Peel bottlegourd.Make round slices of dudhi

2.Meanwhile take one bowl mix all ingredients like gram flour, red chilly powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder & salt.Add water & stir the mixture .Add baking soda into the batter & stir it till mixture runs to a runny paste.

3.Heat oil in a pan.Drain all dudhi slices.Deep slices into the batter till it completely coated.

4 Turn flame to medium heat & deep fry them till color turns to golden.

Serve it with Garlic Chutney / Tomato Sauce /Green Chutney / Tamarind Chutney
