Gavari batata sabji|Cluster bean (gavarichi) Potato bhaji

Gavari batata bhaji ( Cluster bean & Potato sabji) /gavarichi bhaji

Cluster Beans (known as gawar or guar phalli, goru chikkudu or kothavara) are a type of green beans grown in India, especially in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. They are a flatter, smaller cousin of the regular green (French or string) beans.

I was never fond of gavari (cluster bean)bhaji till we came to hyderabad.I never remember tasting it as a child. But once i tried it with goda masala & since then I manage to make this vegetable atleast twice  a month.Being a potato fan I make it a point to add them so that this vegetable becomes eatable & goda masala flavour in it makes it absolutely tasty & spicy.

The only pain in buying these beans is the time taken to cut them- remove the ends and string them along, pulling the edged fibre. Pluck into small pieces (with hand) at the nodes of the pods .I do this with the help of my anjali chopper.

Ingredients:

2 cups cut Gavar/Cluster beans (cut as mentioned above)
1 onion chopped (optional)
1 potato chopped
2 tbsp freshly grated coconut
2 tbsp roasted Peanut powder

1) Wash, dry and snip off ends of the Gavar with a knife. Then cut Gavar into ½ inch pieces width-wise.
2) Peel the potato and cut into ½ inch cubes.

METHOD:
