Moong Oats dhirde | Oats mugache dhirde|how to make oats moong pancakes

Dhirde is the marathi name for pancakes .we also call it chilla in hindi  It is some what similar to adai or uttapams .

They are easy to make and super healthy to have and very very delicious . We all enjoyed them  a lot in our breakfast with tomato ketchup. You can also have it with any chutney of your choice. But it tastes best with green coriander chutney.

Todays dhirda is very healthy as it contains moong beans and oats .Those who are strictly vegetarian usually experience lack of protein in their diet since they exclude meat completely, this recipe is a good substitute for them.

Ingredients

1 cup of sprouted green whole mung beans (mod alele moong)
2-3 Green chillies
1 cup oats
1/2 an inch of ginger
1-2 cloves of garlic
A handful of Cilantro (Coriander)
1/4 cup rice flour
2 tbsp rava
1 tsp cumin
salt as per taste

Method:

1.Dry roast the oats in a pan.

2. Grind together all the given ingredients along with roasted oats in a mixer and make a lump free batter.

3.add half of fresh coriander leaves .Add water to make a runny batter Adjust the batter consistency as required. Keep aside for 15 minutes.

4.Heat a tava and smear a little oil and pour ladleful of the batter. Spread the batter thinly on the griddle in a circular motion.

5.If you want it crisp keep the flame high and let it cook for 2-3 minutes and if you like it soft then reduce the flame and cook covered for 3-4 minutes.

6.       just flip them on the other side until they get nice golden color. Keep in mind that they will still look green, retaining their original color.

7. Serve with coconut chutney ,mint chutney or tomato ketchup Or you can even enjoy them while they are hot along with yogurt or a mint chutney.
