Aloo Anaar Raita | Potato Pomegranate Raita | Batata dalimba raita


Presenting yet another raita to beat the summer heat namely Aloo anardana raita .I have already blogged about aloo raita & also anar raita .Now combination of both these results in this delicious aloo anar raita .

Crisp fried potato in combination with tangy pomegrante(dalimba /anar) pearls  makes this one special and also unique.This raita is very delicious .


An Indian meal is incomplete without a yogurt dish or plain yogurt. Yogurt is a great accompaniment to the spicy curries,biryanis and also  completes the meal by providing protein .


Ingredients:
 1 medium potato, boiled - 1 cup
 1 cup yogurt (dahi)
pomegranate (dalimba /anar) pearls  - 1/2 cup
 1/3 tsp. salt
 1/4 tsp. roasted cumin powder
1/4 tsp pepper (kali miri) powder
 1/4 tsp. minced green chilies (optional)
 1/2 tsp. sugar
 2-3 tbsps. chopped  onions (optional)
 few mint leaves, chopped (optional)
1/2 tsp finely chopped coriander leaves
Oil for frying 1 tbsp


Method:
1.Beat the yoghurt till smooth and thick.
2.Add salt, red chili powder, green chili,pepper (kali miri) powder,sugar,salt and cumin powder.
3. peel potato & cut into 1 inch cubes.In 1 tbsp oil shallow fry the potato till golden brown & drain extra oil on tissue paper.
4.Add sauted potato cubes and pomegranate (dalimba /anar) pearls, stir gently so that potato pieces do not break up.
5.Garnish it with coriander leaves and mint leaves & few pomegranate (dalimba /anar) pearls
6.Serve cold with biryani or pulao or dum aloo
